Imagine a kinetic masterpiece, a wind-driven symphony of motion. Here, fruits and desserts intertwine, each a canvas for the artistic souls of our community. It's a jubilant tribute to camaraderie, underscoring the vital essence of social unity. Behold the eclectic fusion of local favorites: durian meets yogurt delicacies, wholesome ice creams, and decadent cakes. The wind, a gentle maestro, orchestrates a ballet of transformation—from seed to petal to wing—a metaphor for our collective evolution towards boundless creativity, fostering a harmonious tapestry of community spirit.

Fashioned from an alchemy of reclaimed treasures and bespoke elements, including the whispers of discarded fabrics and the echoes of plastic bottles, this creation aspires to breathe new life into the vibrant tapestry of Nanyang's hues.

With a stroke of artistic genius, it endeavors to capture not only the warmth that envelops our surroundings but also the interconnectedness that threads through the very fabric of our community. As it stands proudly, it becomes a vibrant canvas showcasing the abundant tapestry of Singapore's rich flora and verdant landscapes.

The garden's natural ebb and flow takes on a mesmerizing geometric cadence, intricately weaving the elements of color, dots, and line variations into a captivating choreography of hexagons and triangles. This co-creation unfolds through the tactile beauty of 3D craftsmanship, spanning the realms of wire art, string art, recyclable plastic innovations, and windmill mobiles that pirouette gracefully in the breeze."

This art piece draws inspiration from the enchanting tale of 'Jack and the Beanstalk.' As one roams through the mystical journey within the enchanted tree of wonderland, the merriment of leisurely gatherings, spirited activities, and delectable cuisines blossom like the very fruits and flowers of existence.

The idea is relating National Service as a mounted “castle” on a robust Leopard tanks chassis with animated colorful gears and interconnected houses. It acts as an artistic response to Total Defense in which National Service trained strong and agile soldiers with a caring community awareness in mind. There are three prominent 3D geometric forms with facial gestures symbolizing land, sea and air defenses of the nation.

Due to global needs, social changes and technological advancement there is increasing trends in adopting a work life integration in achieving personal goals, family commitments and friendship joy. Dwelling is no longer contained in a house but expanded to contained spaces such as a car, a mobile phone etc. The mixed media sculptural artwork is constructed together by a house form, running gears and animated LED light effects. It is also an environmental art that adapts upcycled domestic items like umbrella fabric, container covers, bathroom tubes, fan blades, found ojects and various discarded components. The art workshop comprises of String art, Acrylic pouring and Sticker art. The participant’s creation will be displayed at different parts of the sculpture.. They are encouraged to bring small items from home eg keys, buttons, clothes, souvenirs, computer mouse. They will use the strings with the readymades and tie them together into a work of art. It is exhibited during Chinese New Year in which the participants are encouraged to extend their new year greetings in it's decoration.

Chingay 2023 Rabbits Arts Venture

 

Chingay 2023 Rabbits ART-Venture is a group project co- created by students and staff of New Town Primary School with Tay Swee Siong. Phoebe (biggest rabbit in the installation) was last of her kind on Earth. All her friends were not with her anymore. She was always wondering around alone. On one fateful day, Phoebe was walking in a beautiful flower field where she saw a unique flower. Phone was immediately drown to it. As she walked closer to the flower, she could smell a sweet scent. She had never seen a flower like that. Suddenly, the sky turned grey. A ray of light shone at her, and she heard a voice: "Do you have a dream...?" Phoebe thought for a moment. "A dream..?! I dream.. to fly around the world." "I can help you fulfil your dream, one condition." "What is the condition?" Phoebe asked. "I want you to lead and serve others with your heart." This installation features Phoebe leading a group of colourful rabbits from different backgrounds. As Team Explorer R'100. they work together to create a new spacecraft to achieve missions, exploring the future possibilities of Singapore.
