Nee Soon FUNtARTstic 25 Aug
The sculpture expresses the inspiration of drawing a first line that ignite a spark of creativity for art. The first wire connects into a human form that propels itself, grasping an endeavor for breakthrough in grace, speed and light. It is standing tall for mental toughness and a willpower for change.
The sculpture is a co-creation between the artist and 50 students from Naval Base Secondary School exploring 2D pictorial space using colours, lines and shapes in a 3D form.

Shoaling Through the Barriers
The installation sculpture features 99 fishes created
individually by the participants of THK Seniors Services and the Zone E Youth Chapter.
The whole engagement is done in 4 community sessions where the artist introduced
different painting techniques and colour mixing practices with a comprehensive
design process learning.
Each fish is expressed as a moulding of a creative
self that are uniquely different, talented and trained in an owned discipline. The
sculpture is capturing the spirit of Taman Jurong residents as the fishes are overcoming
all barriers while shoaling in unity.
The sculpture is located at Blk 337D Tah Ching Road.
Surrounding the nearby Jurong Lake is the natural
habitat of lush greenery and an abundant species of fish wildlife. This
enhances the recreational spaces for art which forms the inspiration for the
artwork.
