Cathedral of the Good Shepherd

work in progress

Shadow projected in the night

“There is nothing in the nature quite as helpful to man as a tree.” opined by Eric Rutkow, an environmentalist. Yet the very existence and demise of trees can be easily forgotten. This series of works from felled Khaya trees embraces the audience with its beauty  in touch, movement, sound and smell – a fitting memory of its being.

Bringing artistic functionality of these reclaimed wood to the fore, Swee Siong’s investigation of the medium manifested in a series of mobile sculptures that are modular, transformative and adaptive to different settings as well as interactive to the viewer.
